Dec 18, 2002: Indian Media "Awakens" to Kanchan Mishra Story

After sleeping for 5 weeks Indian Newspapers have jumped into reporting Kanchan Mishra story. And they are coming out with millions of conflicting reports (as expected from Indian Media)

Meanwhile Ms Advani, chairperson of National Committee for Women has "served an ultimatum to the Bihar police that if it fails to recover Kanchan Mishra within 10 days, the NCW would issue summons against them. "We have taken up the matter seriously and are going to do everything to recover the woman. We expect the police to co-operate, otherwise we will be forced to act against them," she said.

The "Secular" media is doing its "Secular" job to deliver all conflicting reports. For 5 weeks none of them Except Outlook dared to enter the Bihar Terror Land and now all of them are coming out with different "Bold" stories about the incident that happened 6 weeks before.

Pioneer reported. Quote start
"It's a shocking incident. The police in Bihar are hand-in-glove with the criminals. That is why such things are taking place here," Ms Advani said before leaving for New Delhi …."It is not only the police but the entire State administration and Rabri Devi Government get the blame for this sordid episode,"….The police tried to convince the Commission on Tuesday that Kanchan had married Sultan Miya on her own accord.

Police claim they are unable to trace Kanchan Mishra. But interestingly Rediff.com was able to contact Sultan Mia at his hideout over telephone.

Rediff reported. Quote Start
Sultan Mian "told rediff.com over telephone from his hideout that he would send legal documents of his marriage with Kanchan Mishra to the New Delhi based NCW office …..Police officers are reluctant to believe the story of the third marriage, saying Mishra had worked in three beauty parlours and was rumoured to be in love with Sultan Mian. "Kanchan's forcible marriage appears to be a cooked up story because she is yet to divorce her two husbands. So where is the question of forcible marriage," asked one official

Rediff contacted Sultan Mian!!!! Why did they not contact Kanchan's Mother? Do they want us to believe in Sultan Mia's version of the issue? Do they trust only in the Bihar Police and Politician's (that allegedly attended the "Nikah") version of the story? What is the exact objective of this Rediff report? Are they not representing Sultan Mian more than the ordinary citizen?????

(Rediff says: Tell us what you think of this report - news@rediff.co.in)

At the end of this episode please do not be surprised "IF AND WHEN" Kanchan comes before NCW Chair and says "I married Sultan at my own will". (Kanchan and her family are well aware, there will be no one to protect them from the "SULTANIAT TERROR" afterwards)

This is the list of media reports after IndiaCause members went into action of emails to PM and NHRC (that made the difference) after Dec 8th. (Was everyone sleeping till that time??)
