Pigs, Jews & War, Fronts in the clash of civilizations, NRO
I am fascinated by this idea of wrapping dead terrorists in pigskin and lard. This is what the Russians — who understand far better than Americans how to deter Muslim terrorists — are doing with Chechen terrorists. This tactic was first invented in the Sudan by crafty British colonials who wanted to deter suicide attacks. It apparently worked quite well. Since then, Islam's enemies have fallen back on the tried-and-true powers of fatback more than once. I can't find an article about it, but I do recall reading that there were riots in India over rumors that Hindu troops had dipped their bullets in pork in order to not only kill Muslims, but ensure that they would never collect their final reward

Islamism, fascism and terrorism (Part 1), ATimes
Links between neo-Nazis and the radical ideology of Islamism have surfaced since the terrorism of 9/11 - an event that was celebrated by both groups. But fascism and Islamism have an 80-year history of collaboration based on shared ideas

We are a nation of great debtors. We are a nation of great talkers. We are great at drafting plans. Yet in the comity of nations, we rank among last few places in terms of productivity. Something needs to be understood about the way we are and more important than that, something needs to be done about it.

Education Problems; Time to Change, Guest Column at IndiaCause
I work for Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the largest and the only non political student movement in India. ABVP has organised a massive rally on 26th november, 2002 on Indian Parliament in which 1,50,000 students from all over India will be participating. More importantly, all will be coming to delhi with their own money. the rally has been organised to voice students demands on the issues of Indianisation of Education, Course restructuring, Financial Condition of Education, Autonomy, and Unemployment. The article is a short run of the current educational condition of india.

By Francois Gautier. If only India could have its own Vladimir Putin! A man who has the courage to take hard decisions and face the consequences. Mr Putin must have been a lonely man: The Western powers were as usual pressuring him not to....

I tried and failed, Guardian
Last week veteran Russian war correspondent Anna Politkovskaya walked into a Moscow theatre to speak to the leader of the Chechen terrorists who had seized it. Her job was to try to save the hostages - and nothing in her long career had prepared her for it

The open secrets of Saddam's inbox, BBC
Anyone who thinks they can send private e-mails to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein unnoticed by the outside world should think again. Journalists from the American website Wired.com say they have found an easy way to access the Iraqi leader's inbox, taking advantage of security holes in software used by the country's official internet service provider.

The cost of a war that wasn't, Rediff
India"s decision to withdraw troops from the international border without meeting the central aim of ending cross-border terrorism and stopping infiltration amounts to a failure of its strategy to raise the cost for Pakistan for waging a jihad.
