1. Pakistanis in US to boycott Indian networks.

According to Paknews.com, Pakistanis residing in the United States have announced complete boycott of the Indian television channels and blacklist the Pakistani artists performing for the Indian networks. They contended that the boycott should not be limited to the Indian networks and cultural shows but be also implemented on shops and stores run by the Indians. They pledged to identify themselves as Pakistanis and unite under one banner. They also claimed, if two Pakistani artists (Reema and Meera) performed in the Indian cultural show (on June 29 in NY) they would be blacklisted and will not be allowed to perform in any Pakistani show thereafter.

Can Indians in America (with considerably high population than Pakistanies) hit back against Pakistani interests? The unfortunate answer is plain NO!!!

We Indians have yet to realize the potential of media and the power of being together. The fact is: we Indians, as a community, totally lack the national spirit to conduct such a mass exercise against any international entity. The highly educated Indians are ‘COLLECTIVELY ILLITERATE MASS’ to take this media war into Pakistan’s court. CWC and other organizations shall be struggling for many more years to defend our national interests rather than being aggressive & proactive. With current standard of Indian ‘white collar’ troops, our mission of being aggressive on PR is a dream so far.

Uday Kulkarni :
As regards bringing India on par with PAK PR machine: Yes, I agree that PAK PR machinery is working overtime in USA and across everywhere and they have two major strengths over India if we were to compare as below:

1. The PAK government esp after Musharaf lost the PR war in Kargil he is like a wounded tiger has become hyperactive and has launched a systematic and structured PR campaign against India esp in USA while the Indian government is relying on local Indian media which is democratic and free but unstructured and without a goal.

2. The NRPs, their embassies including government and the Pakistan Media are working unitedly and with specific goals and target which has a tremendous impact because everyone speaks in tandem. It is as if they produce one musical note. Comparitively, NRIs are too large in number but divided, complacent and reactive rather than being proactive and hence we get caught napping. Democracy has strengths and weaknesses. We need to overcome the weaknesses when it is an issue related to country's pride and honor. First the media need to unite because future wars will be won in media only rather than on battlefield.

NEED OF THE HOUR: A : BE UNITED ; B : BE STRUCTURED; C : WORK TOWARDS A GOAL

I. We esp the NRIs settled in USA (matter most), Canada, UK , France; Germany; Japan;Russia, China, Australia -say a few top countries need to unite and have a systematic and planned approach in unison with respective Indian embassies / government (Keeping aside alignment with any political party) and then launch an attack on PR machinery.

II. Spread awareness among Indians and non Indian foreign population at every possible forum exposing the Islamic fundamentalism and ulterior motives which is a strong point in our favor, an action which you have started already.(Have Reps in each of the above country who interact on e-mail, exchange information and take united action in all major countries simultaneously with support from Indian government- embassies.)

2. Pakistan goes back on the promise one more time.

After the promise of permanently ending cross border terrorism, AS EXPECTED MR.MUSHARRAF HAS GONE BACK ON HIS PROMISE WITHIN TWO WEEKS. Fulfilling promises is not Pakistan’s business and we have experienced this since the first day Pakistan was born. In 1947 they accepted the independent status of J&K but could not hold on to their promise when they attacked J&K in few months.

Pakistan’s ultimate objective is to disintegrate India into several pieces. J&K is only the ploy in Pakistan’s hands. They will prefer the total destruction at the hands of India but will never leave their holy (bloody) path of terrorism that they adopted 13 years back. Pakistan will prove everyone wrong that will trust in their promises.

And the western world is yet to come to terms with this fundamental fact. They have to take many more shocks before they understand their most untrustworthy ally in the war against terrorism, the nation that harbors worlds most terrorists: PAKISTAN.

The best example was Mr.Liberman’s (America’s running candidate for vice president in last elections) was so innocent that he claimed in Feb (before Mr. Musharraf’s second speech against terrorism) that Mr. Musharraf will be giving ‘history making speech’ in that week. So naive he was. As far as words go PAKISTAN CAN NEVER STAND FOR THEIR WORDS.

And for Indians: this is an unending war for us: We must defeat Pakistan by being proactive to bring the western media to accept the fundamental facts about Pakistan. That is the only way for us to win this war (if we don’t wish to loose millions of lives in real war)

Mush wrecks US peace plan for South Asia
The Bush administration's well-intentioned road map for peace in South Asia may have run aground at the very first hurdle. Pakistan's military ruler Pervez Musharraf has effectively poked his American patrons in the eye by reneging on his promise to end cross border terrorism permanently. US interlocutors who were celebrating their success in getting Musharraf to committ the p-word -- a permanent halt to infiltration -- were jolted by the tone and substance of Musharraf remarks.

Rakesh Sondhi :
Fellow Indians, the battle to influence world media is just getting started as the following article bears out. It is time that e-activism shift into high gear to combat Pakistani mischief worldwide. It will be a crime to underestimate Musharraf.
