The highest office for an unbiased opinion in legal matters for our India
is supreme court whose motto is “Satyameva Jeyadhe”. The supreme court and
the chief judge after diligent corroboration gave a verdict for non-quota
system in private self-financed professional colleges. If we recollect the
arduous struggle of the Delhi university students in 1990 against the
mandal commission recommendations were brutally and ruthlessly turned down
by the then PM V.P.Singh. Even a student lost his life protesting against
this. This action murdered and took life out of the consummate forces
existed in our education system from very old days of Nalanda university.
The education system of Nalanda university of yester years attracted
students far from china and other remote parts of the world.
Myself along with many other professional Indians feel the pain mainly
because of the fact that, Instead of taking cue from the history, the
parliamentarian-laloos and state-assembly-babus of India are trying to
negate the diligent corroboration done by supreme-court. Their main
intention seem to be the only motive of “making a big-show” that
government is favoring the weaker sections by creating the reservations on
the basis of “caste/tribes/religion” and that too by constitutionally in
the name of minorities. But the reality is that the real weaker sections
do not even know the correct meaning of the word “secular’. On the other
hand they even vandalize the education process by printing non-sense in
the text books without regard to the rich cultural heritage of this
Mother-land. More importantly, at this time of the SC judgment, these
laloos and baboos forget one important change of the current scenario from
that of 1990-protest. This time the matter was brought to the notice of SC
for a proper decision “by the managements of self-financed professional
colleges”. Secondly, this judgment did not in any way hamper the
government intentions of reservation in the government-run colleges.
If a common Indian citizen donot abide by the court ruling, it is termed
as contempt of court. If parliament and state-assemblies do not abide by
court orders, should it be called another legislation?. Such a situations
were seen in the case of POTA, and cauvery-river-water disputes.
These professional colleges were earlier allotted quotas on the basis of
reservation and they were also restricted in charging the correct fees
required to run the institution. In-view of the quota restrictions, these
institutions could enroll students to the full capacity. These
institutions should stand like Ahoka’s stupa in the midst of commercial
organizations while attracting the best talent for the teaching staff. The
teaching staff stand like the very foundation of this stupa. Some
institutions even got ISO certification. I could even notice that many
institutions struggle to get professional talent for teaching computer
science and they were outsourcing it through institutions like NIIT. The
best talent will always find another spot pursuing his/her goal, but the
best talent is not attracted the losers will be the institutions and the
aspiring students. These institutions also seem to have taken up the
responsibility of turning-out good professionals who would have the grit
and determination of pursuing his/her professional career. If these
institutions did not want to be accountable to this extent, they would not
have knocked the highest institution for justice. I recently read the news
about youngest Bar-at-law from Chennai. Why did she choose to study law at
UK?. Ironically her father who was a practicing lawyer was pursuing the
case for non-reservations and was even attacked by goondas. It is an open
secret nowadays that these laloos and babus are only trying to create
terror to prevent proper unbiased judgments.
Presently in government schools students and even teachers give daily
attendance only for the mid-day meals. In another point of view, the
employment of teachers seem to be an indirect application of the
“Employment Guarantee Bill” proposed by Sonia. The exceptional
professional talent that is required for teachers go well beyond the
knowledgeable or intelligent brain. The so called government jobs only
GIVE EMPLOYMENT GAURANTEE for the teachers rather than any motivation &
without any means to abide by the accountability.
Again Ironically while government representative name their
government/party as the most secular, these representatives/Governments
openly and constitutionally preach and practice religious apartheid.
Thanks to almighty, India still has enough intellectual brains!
