I recently received a request to sign a petition to release Mallika Sarabhai, who is under proceedings of Indian justice system.

Sulekha: Support Danseuse Mallika Sarabhai

ThePetitionSite: Petition to stop harrassment of Dr Mallika Sarabhai

The first petition is sponsored by Sabrang Communication. The famous Sabrang that had mapped J&K in Pakistan and later on removed after strong protest. The second petition is by Satinath Choudhary (Credentials of this individual needs to be studied carefully)

Here is the other side of the issue for information to the people before they sign this petition. Please review both the sides and then decide about your action.

This petition about Mallika Sarabhai is really another imbalanced attack on Indian Justice System in name of Gujarat Riots.

I do not know about the actual facts on the case. However, similar cases are in news about Diler Mehdi and others, and nobody is waging war against Indian Justice System. What is special about Mallika is evident from the list of the supporters. The main goal of this petition is to unfairly influence the court cases, so that Indian Judges do not have to deliver the unbiased justice.

In reality, after 9/11, the USA government has started taking active role in tracking the visa complience, that was never done before. Most visiting cultural groups like Navaratri Musicians etc. are now closely tracked about their activity in USA to verify that they have been involved in activities limited to the matters for which the visa is granted. Mallika is not an isolated case.

Also, I think that, it is the government of USA that may in fact be taking the lead and complaining to govt. of India to take actions.

It seems that Mallika Sarabhai has joined the people like Arundhati Roy who would become very popular in Pakistan, by delivering one sided anti-India speeches in conferences. They gang up and protest in cases like Parliament Attack to release Gilani unconditionally without court trial. These people have been attacking Indian Justice proceedings and unfairly impacting the verdicts using their international influence. Now they are doing it for Mallika. The tone of this campaign seems to be that of waging an all out war against Indian justice system.

It seems that Mallika has joined the anti-India organizations in name of fighting Hindu terrorism. She was busy attending anti-India organization conferences instead of cultural programs that she is visiting USA for. Mallika has been turned into another Arundhati Roy that spreads lies against peaceful and tolerant Indian cultural heritage.

This petition is full of hatred against Indian Justice System. he has joined the groups which are now opposing the Indian Justice process to give verdicts in all major national issues under court proceedings. They are taking the justice department in their hands by ganging up in name of secularism and minority rights. Most P-Sec groups in USA that she is supporting have campaigned against IDRF which in reality is serving the poor of India.

I think India has the great justice system and a successful democracy. The justice will be served in this case too. I suggest that the petition is insult to Indian Justice system and democratic government and that the petition should be removed.

This petition will make Mallika a fighter against Government of India and will attract many international awards, as it often happens when some Resident non-Indian (RNIs) works against India in international arena.
