Thank you for taking up the cause and bringing it to a good resolution. India needs many more like you. My appreciation and admiration for your work.

06 May 2003 Ashok Puligari, united kingdom
it was such a disgrace on part of the american eagle company to come up such an idea,it is good that they have apologised. they do not have a clue up to what extent they have hurt the feelings of an indian. my sincere congratulations to you on behalf of all other fellow indians for fighting against such activities.keep up the good work.

06 May 2003 srinivas rambabu k, usa
We should strongly oppose this

05 May 2003  Ashok jain, USA
Good work once again. Question is who does give such kind of ideas? I don't think American public really even know what all this is? To what kind of consumers American Eagles was trying to reach through this tastelesss idea?

05 May 2003  ADITYA KAMBLE, INDIA
America as it is fedup with Muslims & it will be worse for them if they try to take Hinduism lightly.

04 May 2003  P.V.Nilkund
Thanks for your very noble & instant move. What a mental sickness!!. Doing deliberately mischievous and instigating things like this and then apologizing????

04 May 2003  Sandeep Kapil
Your effort was really great in Ganesha thing, where the ganesh ji's photo was on the slippers. Good work.

03 May 2003  Megh Anjana , USA
No religion should be taken as granted. Every religion is as pure as holy Bible. If u people can't print the picture of Lord JESUS then how can u dare to print the picture of Hindu religious Lord GANESHA. No religion accepts such type of narrow mindedness. The company thought of gaining popularity by doing this, but that gone in the wrong direction and u'r Lord JESUS will never forgive u for this dirty diong. From now we will not buy any single thing from so called AE. U peoples ruined u'rself by doing this misdeed.

03 May 2003  Manoj Rakhit, India
Good Job !!!

02 May 2003 Amit Kulshreshta, Bharat(India)
Thanks indiacause to escalate this thing which badly hurt our feeling, and our emotion to our religion . I wish u luck . Tell those donkeys,bustard,........................... and many more,Do not play with our emotions.good keep it up.

02 May 2003 Ajit Ashwalayan Shukla, India
Though I am not a regular visitor of this portel, but would like to express my gratitude for this commendable job, but with a caveat. This is not the first time that somebody has used the image of Lord Ganesh as just another popular cartoon. Though the co. has apologised but the harm had already done. Why is it always that Indians, and Hindus specially, have to launch a crusade to 'redeem' the lost or tarnished glory of their culture, religion or nation? The defender always has to loose even if he succeeds in defending. We have to shed our attitude of 'sarve bhavanut sukhinah, sarve bhavatu niramayah'. The world is chaning fast. A little proactive stand could do better.

02 May 2003 Sashi Ravikumar, Singapore
Congratulations!!!

01 May 2003 dr preshit mulay, india
You have done a womderful job by making the erring company apologise for the thing they have done to our faith. how cant some people understand that they are playing with peoples faith? let this be a path breaker and let not anyone else do sucha thing to hindu or any other religion and to their sentiments.

01 May 2003 Suresh G, USA
A mere apology does not heal the damage caused by AE. I seriously doubt their "goal" in producing creative products. I will never purchase another AE product from now on.

01 May 2003 Harish B. S
Thanks for taking up the Ganesha picture used by American company on their chappals. We really appalled and felt comfort after reading their apology letter and withdrawal of the product from their stores.

01 May 2003 Sridhar , US
Kudos to IndiaCause for catching the bull by the horns. Great work!! If possible we really need to find out from "American Eagle Outfitters" as to who suggested this idea to them at the first place. Because this is no coincidence that of all the possible designs in this world, they just happened to imagine something and that turned out to resemble exactly to Lord Ganesha!! It is really appreciative of the company to have apologized but if they can let us know more about who suggested this idea and hence take necessary action against that person, that will be really great!!

30 Apr 2003 Niteen N.Kardekar, India
It was a great feeling about your "Don't you ever give up " spirit. It is just because of fine people like you, we feel we held our head high. It is no less task than any patriotic performance to preserve the godliness of our country's dignity and integrity. Best regards to you and your team,

30 Apr 2003 Gouree Ramanath
Great news! Good job and well done!! Make sure they keep the word.

30 Apr 2003 Veena Vijay, USA
I am totally appalled at the ignorance exhibited by the American Eagle company...How in the world did they come up with this model of slippers??? I think they should more than apologise to the crores of Indians all over the world for hurting our sentiments and religious beleifs. My question to them is would they tolerate if any images of their gods where put on slippers and put out on the market for consumers??? I as an Indian and a devout Hindu am totally hurt by this behaviour exhibited by this american company and I am sure a lot of my fellow indians join me in expressing our anger over this...

30 Apr 2003 Venu Acharya, USA
I really appreciate your effort of fighting for good causes of Indian people all over the world. Keep it up. We always support this kind of effort. Lord Ganesha bless all of us. Thanks.

30 Apr 2003 Sonali, usa
Congratulations to IndiaCause for bringing up this issue.

30 Apr 2003 sriram krishnan
Perhaps Indian companies should start exporting toilet tissues to the US with Jesus Christ printed on the sheets. May be the Americans would understand how we feel about such gross representation of Hindu gods.

30 Apr 2003 Samir Shah, USA
Dear freinds and fellows, I extend my congratulations and full co-operation to IndiaCause for taking timely and firm action against American Eagle. I think this is the best site to bring all our people together to fight against all such gross actions by foreign countries. I also think that we should take some steps to make such companies aware of our culture and values for our Gods so that they do not dare to repeat such heinous and insulting things in future. Why don't they print picture of Jisus instead? We should make public protest in some way in America showing such articles to American public and make them understand and agreed not to do such things in future. Well done INDIACAUSE again.

We appreciate 'India Cause' for its effort to stop marketing the Flip-Flop shoes with the image of Lord Ganesh. we strongly protest the abuse or misuse of our Hindu Gods. The persons with this type of nasty ideas should be punished so that this will not repeat again.

30 Apr 2003 Hemant
Thanks and congrats for the good work...

30 Apr 2003 Satish Agarwal, India
Congratulations and best wishes for India Cause

30 Apr 2003 Raghbendra Jha
Congratulations on organizing this effort. We have to keep vigilant to ensure the the self-respect of Hindus and the dignity of Mother India.

30 Apr 2003 Dr S Sharma, UK
I ADMIRE AND SALUTE YOU WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND SUCCESS YOU ARE GETTING. I AM SURE HINDUS AROUND THE WORLD ARE DELIGHTED TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE THROUGH UNITY AND SUPPORT AND A LEADER LIKE YOU. YOU ARE UNITING INDIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND IT WILL BRING MANY SUCCESSES IN THE FUTURE BY THE GRACE OF LORD GANESH. I AM SURE PEOPLE ARE DOING SUCH THINGS DELIBARATELY TO HURT THE SENTIMENTS OF HINDUS AND THER IS NO END TO IT. IF INDIA WERE A HINDU RASHTRA AND HINDUISM ITS STATE RELIGION SUCH THINGS WOULD NOT HAPPEN AND IF HAPPEND A STRONG ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN. THE ANSWER IS THERE AND ONE DAY WE HAVE TO DO THIS FOR THE SAKE OF NATIVE CULTURE OF BHARAT BUT IT IS GETTING TOO LATE. PRABHU RAKSHIT. NAMASKAR. WITH KINDEST REGARD TO YOU SIR.

30 Apr 2003 Ashok Menon
While it is commendable that the offence has been rectified, it is rather curious that this is not the first incident of its kind - the thoughtlesness, directed specifically at those of the Hindui faith. Why would someone target the Ganesha icon, that would be a realtively unrecognised symbol in the US? Could there therefore be a deeper aspect to such incidents, sponsors perhaps with the view perhaps to cash in on the uproar as an advertising stunt, or alternately something more insidious towards running down the faith vis-a-vis other faiths? Either way, much money would have been lost by the manufacturer, through the product recall, and this is not in the nature of a hard nosed businessman.

I thank HIM a Million for the existence of a proactive entity such as IndiaCause. I cannot thank our dear Mahendra Joshi enough for this great idea and enthusiasm he has shown in taking these issues up and
actively voicing our pro-India concerns.Long Live Mahendra Joshi and India Cause and May all the Gods and Goddesses bless you with more of courage, wisdom and affluence.

30 Apr 2003 Vinay Dayal,  USA
The basic question is who gave them this picture of Lord Ganesha and where were these chappals made.  I have a strong feeling by looking at the sample that these were made in India. We should go after the manufacturers and make them responsible for their stupidity.

30 Apr 2003 Vinayak Kulkarni,  USA
I was shocked to see the images of Lord Ganesh on a footware product. We should actively protest against this product till it is pulled off all sales outlets and till the manufacturing is completely stopped. We should also continue to educate manufacturers at large so that such products are not conceived in future.

Firstly I thank all the members and the team of India cause for their unique and endevaouring effort in saving India's heritage and culture.  India is the mother of culture and civilisation and that is
the reason why other countries cannot understand its diversity and depth.  It is quiet common and disheartening that very often our culture is used for commercail publicity in a really unethical way.  But I am really happy that there is someone who keeps a check on it and it is INDIACAUSE.COM...As the love for nation is above all relationships and religion....Give respect and take respect is the law of life..We Indians are very calm and patient and do not misuse any other country's sentiments, so they also better understand this fact and stop hurting our sentiments.....

30 Apr 2003 Ashok Verma, UK
I am absolutley appaled at the Western World in the way they are using the immages of or Gods, daities etc.. in their so called fashion scenes and using them in absurd places. Have they no dignety or respect , they are supposed to be intellegent!!? They are quick to pick up our Hindu images, let then try to use words or images of the islamic religon and see how far they will go --- the will have a WAR on their hands or Fatwa??

30 Apr 2003  Gautham.P,  India
Let it be known that Hindu religion & culture transcends normal religious tolerances and nuisance. It is a way of life analyzed and accepted for eons. It is better that foreign cultures do an introspection before
marketing devilsh products, and seek cheap publicity. It does bode good for thier own culture.

30 Apr 2003  prof. K. Subbarangaiah,  India
No religious faith can be disrespected. In view of the apology and withdrawing these shoes from all the stores they can be excused. However, we strongly protest the irresponsible behavior of American
Eaglewhich lead to release of such shoes into the market. They should demonstate their proactive support for India cause through some strong postive action when they are sincere in extending their apology.

30 Apr 2003  Hari Sharan, USA
I would like to congratulate you for your efforts in eliciting an apology from American Eagle. This is an important victory for us in our struggle to protect our culture. Best wishes to the India Cause team for continued successes in the future.

30 Apr 2003  Dayadevi J.S. Heart-Catterall,  USA
I hope these sandles are destroyed and them made into some other pattern.  Just to have them taken off the market only to be found at some discount store would still be a majoy insult. Namaste'

30 Apr 2003  Dalip Thukral, USA
Now that the American Eagle management has tendered their formal apology, and has assured to remove the flip-flops from their shoes, I can only say: Long live INDIA CAUSE. Before this incident came to notice of the people, in general, you nipped the evil in the bud. Well-done INDIA CAUSE.

30 Apr 2003  madhu hebbar,  USA
Great job guys. I sent  the letter and forwarded to link to friends also.  Your activism brings me hope. WE need to do some proactive work to better the india's image amongst the policy makers. That would be better than reactive process that we are involved in currently.

30 Apr 2003  Nischala Jayanti, USA
It is really appalling that the company used the figure of the most important of Hindu deities for their product. I hope such a thing could be prevented in future and there is some regulation that deals with such
actions very sternly.
