This is a product (socks with 'OM') distributed by Gold Medal Hosiery in New York.

(Media reports on July 3, 2003 said: "Gold Medal Hosiery in New York, which distributes the offending socks, declined to comment. The label on the socks says the product has been made in South Korea. They have been designed by New Yorker Linda Maddocks")

On July 4, 2003 IndiaCause sent formal letter to the President of Gold Medal Hosiery, Mr.Paul Rotstein. We received following e-mail  Apology from Mr.Paul Rotstein.

He did not comment on our suggestion to withdraw this product. Therefore we assume GMH will continue to distribute this product.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Sanjeev Dahiwadkar
(IndiaCause, Coordinator)

Let me start off by apologizing for causing concern and outrage at our inadvertent use of the "Om" symbol.

We at Gold Medal Hosiery are respectful of all religious values and traditions and would never knowingly be disrespectful towards anyone's beliefs.

This was a one time occurrence and we will not repeat the use of this symbol in any of our products.

Please accept our  Apology and rest assured that tolerance and harmony are core beliefs that we live by.

Sincerely yours,
Paul Rotstein President, CEO
