On January 26, 2001, FoxNews.com displayed India map without Kashmir in one of their news pages. This was an offending effort on India's Republic day to create an impression that India does not include Kashmir. After very strong protest with FoxNews this map was withdrawn without any comments on Feb 1. There was another controversial map, showing whole of Kashmir as disputed territory. This too was withdrawn on the same day.

Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India'. We discourage every effort to show distorted version of India Map anywhere. Such efforts can never be tolerated by Indians.

India map shown on this page does not appear to include Jammu & Kashmir which is an INTEGRAL PART OF INDIA. This map is a complete misrepresentation of Indian borders. Every Indian strongly protests this false & mischievous misrepresentation of our boundaries. Being a reliable news agency you are expected to be more responsible while publishing any sensitive material on your site.

For your kind information I am giving few Internet links which will help you understand the geography of Asian region. This is how the world looks at India & not the way the above page is trying to misrepresent. If you need any further geographical information, I will be very happy to provide with that. Hope this erroneous map shown on site will be corrected or the page is withdrawn completely.

And If this was not an intentional effort, I hope in future Foxnews.com will recruit junior editors who have better geographical knowledge and understanding of the Asian region.
