Sultan Mia makes no difference between Bihar and erstwhile Taliban
What made the erstwhile Taliban government in Afghanistan and the republic of
Bihar so common? No need for a serious thought. It can be anybody's guess.
Its all the brutal & barbaric nature of the government, highest level of
crime, corruption and killings of innocent people, orthodoxy and
primitiveness of the governance. Some three weeks ago when a most wanted
criminal of Patna, the capital of the State, Sultan Mia abducted a married
woman in broad daylight from the heart of the city, took her to Mosque and
got married with her.
The only fault of the woman, Kanchan Mishra was that she looked beautiful.
Allegedly, the dreaded criminal forcibly lifted her in his car and performed
nikaah on November 12th at a mosque in the Mainpura locality of the town in
which some heavy weight ruling party politicians were present. Not only this,
even the officer-in-charge of the police station of the locality was also
present to give protection to the abductor criminal. After the nikaah
ceremony performed the couple drove straightway to the residence of the
minister belonging to Simanchal area of the State in his beacon-fitted car
where a lavish reception was organised in which reportedly several
politicians and other people who matters in the corridors of power were seen
enjoying the delicacies of the food served. But none cared for Kanchan who
hails from Bidupur locality of Vaishali district.
Sultan Mia made his presence felt in the underworld of the State with the
infamous Manoj Kamalia murder case. Kamalia was a prominent businessman of
the Patna city area and he was murdered early in the morning in the month of
April when he was on his way to play badminton in his club. For almost a
month the city area of Patna which is a hub center of business had been
completely paralised against the murder of Kamalia. However, after much hue
and cry the Patna police finally came to conclusion that the murder was
executed by Sultan Mia and his gang. Since then the absconding Sultan Mia has
been giving sleepless nights to Patna police by committing crimes at his
wish. Now his name spells terror not only amongst Patnaites but also in the
police force of the town.
Since the abduction and forceful marriage of Kanchan Mishra her brother and
husband, Pappu Pandey who is lowly paid worker in a restaurant in Patna are
running from pillar to post to get her free from Sultan's clutches. But not
so surprisingly everywhere they're getting the same stock reply to forget her
wife. No one dares to do anything be it the higher police officials or the
politicians of the State for the simple reason that Sultan Mia is not an
ordinary criminal. He is said to be a protégé of high-profile, infamous
ruling party RJD, MP from Siwan, Mohd. Shahabuddin. Mohd. Shahabuddin,
sources said, had even prevented Sultan from throwing any lavish reception on
the occasion. It is learnt now that Sultan has even agreed to adopt the four
year old minor child of his newly-wed wife.After this story was published in

The fear & terror of Sultan and his gang is such that now the poor husband of
Kanchan Mishra has stopped talking about the incident. He along with his
brother-in-law both have gone underground. He even now says that Kanchan was
not his wife and she has gone to Sultan on her own wish. The Patna police
even think it right and see "some reason" in it. Said a senior police
official of Patna:" when her husband says things like this then it must be
the reason. Her husband even doesn't come to the police station to file a
case against the abductor. So what can we do". But when informed that it
might be out of fear of such a dreaded criminal Pappu Pandey is not naming
him, the police officer replied not in words but with a puckish smile- much
of meaning less of reason. However, Kanchan's brother who had first received
the telephone calls about the abduction of his sister from the official
residence of the ruling RJD minister has not yet given up his hope to rescue
his sister but pleads to not to mention his name in print for the obvious
reason: the terror of trigger-happy Sultan Mia.
Meanwhile, Sultan's men have reportedly threatened the hapless husband of
Kanchan Mishra who was working as a beautician in a beauty parlor in Patna,
Pappu Pandey to kill if he dares to go anywhere to rescue his wife. Now, for
Kanchan's family members life in lawless Lalooland has no other meaning than
what was in Taliban. Though life has changed its colour even in Afghanistan
but one wonders when it would be in this Gangetic gangland !
